For customers, it is probably a good service. For prospective employees, I would go elsewhere.

First, they only pay out about 25% of what they take in from the customers. Other services pay out about 50% if not more.

Second, scheduling is ridiculous. If you weren't logged in on the second scheduling opens up on a weekly basis, as well as have a quick mouse trigger finger, you were left without any hours. Then, they would get on your case about not committing to any hours, when none of the hours you wanted to tutor would be open.

As far as the mentors for the tutors, I had several. One mentor would tell me I should do one thing differently. The next mentor would tell me to do the exact opposite.

One of their administrative leaders reprimanded me because "the student could take your post as being negative". Seriously? I'm being reprimanded for how the student takes what I post? The student could take anything a tutor says or does as being negative. How is that show a bad performance by the tutor? But, then, with that student, they tell me I did something wrong (oh, pardon me, having to use their language, "You need to make an improvement in that", like I wouldn't take that as being negative).

You only hear from the mentors when you do something wrong. You get no recognition from them for doing good. If their tutors treated their students how their mentors treated their tutors, all the tutors would be fired.

Also, if you work 100 sessions with them, and they deem you do something wrong in 1 of the sessions, they don't care about the 99 other sessions you did apparently deemed fine sessions, they only look at that one session and tell you to fix it. If in the next 100 sessions, they deem you have did the same thing wrong (on, sorry, incorrectly), then they reprimand you for not improving on your error.

For students looking for assistance, probably a good service. For prospective tutors, I would look elsewhere.

In summary, I would not recommend Tutor.com to a friend.
