My 8 year old daughter just took the Grade 2 SCAT test 2 two days ago after attending 20 lessons in total with etutor in both the verbal and quantitative sessions. Her verbal got 88% and Quantitative got 90%. She is so excited and thanks very much for Veena who has been her tutor .

Idea of online tutoring somehow was never my criteria. But in order to challenge my kid more, feel him accomplished and full utiliztion of his time, tried this site. It turned out pretty good meeting my kid needs, challenge him more, and also work with his pace as he is trying things ahead of his grade. I would highly recommend etutor to kids who needs to be challenged more, need help with homework.

It takes about a session to understand how kid needs to work and use the site for navigation and also within one session tutor did his due diligence to understand kid needs, make a plan how to proceed and how to make kid feel comfortable. Tutor explained very well how they can use white board sessions, how to ask questions and I am very impressed to see in order to accomplish the goal of set up, tutor spend more time than expected. After 2 sessions kid is comfortable how to navigate and use the site, how to clear the doubts and ask questions. The knowledge and skills that tutors shared are well detailed and up to the mark.

Prior to my supposed free lesson, I signed in to make sure that my settings were all set for the session. I signed in to start the session and was surprised that the system had a notice stating, "checking your Java settings". It then required a download to interact with the tutor. After I did all of this, it asked me to do it again. Then it required me to install their software. I finally opted to go into the session without the "required" downloads, and the tutor had left. I was told they tried to contact me and that she waited 15 minutes. I don't believe both statements. When I received email confirmation, nothing was said about downloading software before being allowed in. Secondly, after I got in, I had to download software to speak to someone who was called "the tutor" who was actually a customer service rep. He tried to sell me a session, stating that the tutor had left. I feel that this was bait and switch. Also, the "free" session is only 15 minutes--they don't advertise that either. I asked who the tutor was who had been in the... (Read the full review)
